Vegan Bread Recipe for Bread Machine
We love homemade bread in our house! Its amazingly soft with a light crisp crust…better than anything you can buy in the store. This bread makes the best grilled sandwiches and killer PB&J’s. I especially love that it uses simple ingredients and is super easy. And the ingredients are non-dairy, making this a super easy vegan bread recipe to throw in the bread machine.
I am particularly fond of our bread machine! It is one of my favorite kitchen tools and I don’t know how I’ve lived without one all these years! I love this bread machine because it mixes the dough, lets it rise and cooks it all in one! Talk about easy! Literally, all I have to do is put the ingredients in the pan, turn it on and wait for the house to smell like a bakery. Fresh baked vegan bread smells AMAZING!!

This is the bread machine we have:
However it seems this might be the newer version:
It is important to layer the ingredients in the order as listed (wet ingredients on bottom and dry ingredients on top). It is also recommended to make a small well or dent in the dry ingredients for the yeast.
Ingredients:
- 1 ¼ c warmed unflavored non dairy milk (I use almond milk. I also microwave in a glass measuring cup for 1 minute)
- 2 Tbsp of softened non dairy butter or butter flavored coconut oil (this is my favorite)
- 3 c flour (all purpose)
- 3 Tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp yeast (for bread maker)
Directions:
- Add ingredients in the order as listed into the bread maker pan. Don’t forget to make a small dent for the yeast.
- Turn your bread machine on and choose settings for 2 lb. loaf with light crust.
Note: I like to take my paddle out right before it starts baking. (For my bread maker this is at 2hr 35min). I simply open the lid, remove the pan, turn the pan over, dumping the dough out in one hand, remove the paddle, dump the dough back in the pan and replace the pan in the machine without turning the bread machine off. It doesn’t seem to affect the bread, other than reducing the size of void in the bottom of the bread from the paddle. It then bakes for an hour. I sometimes remove my bread about 5 minutes before its done to keep the crust very light – but this is simply our preference.

What’s also great about this recipe, is you can leave it to mix and cook while you do something else around the house. You can clean the shower with this easy 2 ingredient DIY cleaner or whip up some simple DIY salt scrub for a little self pampering.
