Simple DIY Salt Scrub
I’d like to share a simple DIY salt scrub that uses only TWO ingredients. This is my favorite part of the shower and leaves my skin feeling so silky smooth and moisturized. I don’t even have to use lotion after this! It is so simple, you won’t regret taking a few minutes to whip up this spa-like treat for yourself. This site contains affiliate links to products. Ingredients:
Directions:
Step 1: Melt 1/2 cup of coconut oil in glass dish. Its best to melt the oil using a double boiler method by placing the dish in/over hot water. But I have also warmed it in the microwave (shhhh!)
Step 2: Stir in 1 cup of sea salt.
Step 3: Optional. Add in your favorite essential oil. I add oils sometimes, but I really love the subtle smell of coconut without any oils added.
Step 4: Transfer mixture to a plastic container to keep in the shower. (Plastic only because it gets slippery and well…glass breaks)
To Use:
While still in the shower, cover your skin with the salt scrub and let it sit for just a minute. A little bit goes a long way. I use approximately 1 tbsp. Then rinse and dry off. The rich coconut oil locks in the moisture and leaves your skin feeling so silky smooth!
Disclaimer: It will leave a slightly oily residue in the shower so be careful not to slip when getting out of the shower. I also share the best and easiest DIY 2 ingredient shower cleaner that makes cleaning up any residue super simple. Click here to see the post and how easy it is to make.
